What a rich life we get to live! I often take this for granted. Looking over the photos and moments from the past couple of weeks makes me realize how thankful I am for the relationships and experiences God has given us. As we sat around the table at not one but 2 thanksgiving feasts we were so thankful for the friends we have made in Panajachel.
We started out our festivities at Solomon’s Porch Cafe. Mirna, Carmen and Birma made us quite the feast! Thank you ladies for all your hard work.
It was really fun to celebrate and say thanks with the people we work with week in and week out here at the Porch. We missed having Lloyd and Melanie with us but were glad they were able to spend time back in Florida with family.
We then headed over across the street to the Pana Center where our friends Aimee and Tony had invited us to another thanksgiving party. This was Abra and Ezra’s favorite because there were lots of kids their age to play with.
The kids had a great time playing with their friends in the bounce house. And the food was absolutely delicious. We are really enjoying getting to know other families in town.
One of our family traditions is to put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. Its so fun to see the excitement on the kids faces as they put up the tree. Even though its sort of a charlie brown tree the kids still love it. Ezra hasn’t stopped asking every hour of every day when Christmas will be here.
The holidays are always tuff being away from our families. We missed Grandma Mary, Grandpa Buzz, Grammy and Pups, and everyone else but we are thankful for the people God has placed in our lives down here in Guatemala to make our lives full.
